A little side tracked......

This weekend painting furniture was not on the top of my list, to be honest it wasn't even on my "to do" list. Cleaning the house was on my "to do" list, but I couldn't find the motivation or inspiration to clean. I usually enjoy cleaning, I know it is odd, but I love to clean the house. When every thing is in its place and the clutter is put away and the house smells clean....love it!

This week the motivation was missing. That was when I decided to start painting the upstairs trim. The previous owner was kind enough to replace the trim, but they didn't fill in the nail holes or paint any of the trim. I grabbed my can of paint and started on the upstairs bathroom.

Painting the trim started to get boring. At this moment I was wishing I was painting the walls or even hanging window treatments.  A project a little more exciting than white trim.

This is when I happen to look at our master bed.  Now the bed looked pretty boring and sad! Why not paint the bed? All supplies are available; white paint, sand paper, glaze! The trim needed to dry between coats any ways, so why not?

Here is our before picture from moving week in Sept....

Two coats of white paint and one coat of mocha glaze.....
You have heard me talking before about painting the bed,
but I couldn't decide on a color....
Loving the white and surprised how different it looks....

You know you can't change one thing with out having to change 50 more....

I guess my "to do" list just grew....

Do you get a little side tracked ever? And only to create a bigger "to do" list? Hoping I am not alone!!

I love the white headboard and it looks like you have some great plans! I never know when to stop...I always want to do more once I've started changing things! Enjoy your week! ♥

The bed turned out wonderful! I haven't had much motivation lately to do anything so I understand. Sometimes I do jump around on projects. I have tried to reel myself in to focus on one room at a time. However, that gets boring quickly!!

Gorgeous! I think I need to run to the hardware store and pick up a gallon of white paint and some mocha glaze.

What a change!! Coming from Kims and glad I did as I just posted last week about all the changes I need to make to my master, this was such a helpful find...did you make your curtains? That is a project I would like to tackle..your transformation is fantastic!

Do I ever get side tracked...let me think about that.....YES! All the time. Loving your projects though, but yes trim is so boring too.

Wendy, I'm laughing! Do I get sidetracked. I am the queen of sidetracked. I am like you. I start one thing and it leads to many more. I love the bed painted. Now I am wondering if I want to paint the bed in the room I am painting. I think I am going to paint the dresser though. Thanks for joining the party.

I do not blame you from steering away from the trim. I hate trim painting. No instant gratification. I love the bed. It looks amazing.

The paint totally transformed that bed. It looks great...it looks like a totally different bed. But yes, now you have to paint the side tables.

Wendy, Man I wish I had half of your energy! How do you manage to do so many house projects? I enjoy seeing your progress!
Have a wonderful evening,
Wendy (too;)

I am with you on the cleaning- cleaning is my stress buster- if the house is clean and the clutter is put away, I can handle anything else. The bed looks great. And I also agree- most of my projects lead to fifty more too!

Wow, love the new look of the furniture! We had the same furniture set but just sold it last week since we just got a king bed. You really transformed the look with the paint. It looks amazing!

Wendy!
Guess what I have on my to do list? To call you! Thank you for the text around Christmas, it made me smile--I swear I am not ignoring you--I find time here and there to post--but I've been just awful at commenting--ugh.
I miss you and wanna chat!
And see what's up and such!
The bed looks fantastic! You have inspired me to paint my Sarah's armoire...tomorrow!
I will paint the trim/doors as one of the last things here before putting the For Sale sign up, because THAT is boring, yes.
I hope you are safe and warm and I see you are blessed!
I will try you tomorrow...
HUGS,

Looks great, I like the purple bedding and drapes. I just wanted to tell you that I loved the way you wrote the scone recipe out in the directions that I did the same thing on my recipe for today. It was so helpful to just look at each step a bit separate from the rest instead of all the words being jumbled together. Thanks again!

LOOKS AWESOME Wendy! I love the transformation. I painted my oak bedroom furniture white a few years ago and never regretted it. The best part is, it hides all the dust and always looks clean! Ha! I'm thinking about glazing it now. Keep going while you have the energy!

Wendy,
I love it.... I love it all! I'm so excited that you decided to go ahead and do your room in this house, you and Tony need a beautiful place to relax after a long day! Wayne and I had purple and white in our master bedroom in our last house and it was so soothing and nice! Wonderful job on the bed, it changes the whole look of the room! Can't wait to see what colors you choose for the bathroom!

Wendy,
I have bedroom dressers with that honey color stain as well and have been wanting to paint them but was too scared (thinking I would be "ruining the wood finish"). Your bedroom looks beautiful and you've given me the courage to pick up my paintbrush and try it. --And also say goodbye to the hunter green headboard/footboard!!! Jo

Your bed is really really nice, now Wendy. It definitely had an eighties or nineties look to it (and I should know, that's how my bedroom set looks) and you have completely updated it, it is just lovely! How are you enjoying all those little trips outside with little Blue?? :-)

Wendy you're totally not alone! My list grows and grows and it seems like I never finish anything in my own house! I LOVE what you did to your bed - white paint and mocha glaze? Where'd you get the mocha glaze and what kind of glaze is it? I really really love that finish. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I don't remember if I'm a follower of your blog so I'm going to pop over and follow you right now if I'm not already! Thanks for the paint finish recipe!
