A new collection.....

When we started to redo the diningroom I wanted to change up the deocorations. I actually lived with the walls blank for awhile....trying to decide what direction to go. Sometimes my brain has too many ideas and I actually took my time. This is a new concept for me!

I have always loved handpainted trays. I own one tray that I bought many years ago.  The colors matched the diningroom perfect.

Then for my birthday my mom got me this beautiful tray!

At the Antique booth I found this little beauty...

Then at the thrift store I found this little tray for.... .25 cents!!
I think I found my newest obsession collection!

Went to Lowes and got plate hangers and started making holes in the wall.
This is where patience would do me good, but it took awhile to figure out the best placement.
I actually tried them on all three wall and 18 holes later here is where they ended up....
(every wrong hole was patched over and repainted!!)

Added white curtains and white lamp shades to the chandy.

Next on the "to do" list is a center piece for the table...

I found the large picnic basket this weekend at the antique shop it was the perfect completion to my picnic basket collection.

Do you remember the before??
You can read about the process here & here & here!!
And the after.....

Thank you for stopping by and visiting!!

Oh what a transformation. You have created a refreshing and inviting dining room. The molding trim and paint color and your beautiful trays are all perfect together. The room feels so fresh. I love it.

Wendy, I love the new dining room! I am the same way, I always want to finish a room right away and get things on the walls but sometimes it is better to wait and really decide what looks best.

Amazing the difference the paint color made- loving your pretty trays-nice contrast with the darker trays- have fun scouting for a centerpiece!!

I have a little tray obsession too. I've found 'em at flea markets, Goodwill and tag sales. Somehow I just can't resist! I think your trays look fab on the dining room wall. Great after!

A charming and beautiful room; what a difference a simple tray or platter can make. For my trays I usually use these adhesive plate hangers to hide the wires, but also find it difficult to find wire hangers large enough.

Amazing, beautiful room. I love the transformation. Tole Trays are 2die4.

Now...I have your SAME Dining Room set. After owning it for almost 18 years I gifted the gorgeous hutch to my daughter in love as we did some redecorating of our own. And...I painted (don't faint) my table and all the chairs cottage white. It was a HUGE STEP (and job) but went for it just the same. I love it just as much painted as I did when I first purchased the set so many years ago. I'll be sharing pics before long.

You have a SWEEEEET blog. I sooo enjoyed my visit.

Hi Wendy, I love seeing before and after pictures. Your dining room is very pretty and I love the trays ~ what a deal to get the one for a quarter! I like your milk glass collection too. I just recently made a large candle ring for the dining table using a woven wreath from the thrift store as the base. I absolutely love thrift store bargains. Hope you have a nice weekend.

That is a great collection you have startting out! But it is hard to find the cream and the light colored green trays out there. There are so many of the black ones out there where I live in Califorina. Ive only seen a couple pink but they go kind of high. Have fun with your collection...Julian

How did I miss this post Wendy? I have an obsession with trays too, especially Tole. I'm always scouring Ebay for really awesome ones. I've found a few at yardsales and thrift stores. I just can't get enough, even when I don't have a place to put them!
