Remembering Technology

As a family we are having fun going to thrift stores.
When we get there we have our list of treasures we hope to find!
Sometimes we find a new treasure we had not even thought of!

A vintage typewriter has been on our wish list for awhile...

Maybe not in pink....
although the girls would love it!!

we would take blue, tan or black...
The kids are so excited to be able to type their own letter
and not use a printer...

Remember rotary phones...

My mom and dad still have one in the basement!

On a recent trip to Pottery Barn we found a vintage style phone...

The kids race to answer the phone...
because they love the phone cord!
Now...if they had to use a phone attached to the cord...
it would be the end of the world!!
Remember stretching the cord to the point of it not even being coiled
any more....just to have a little privacry!

One more...
Little Tony picked up a record at the thrift store and
said, "Dad..what's this"

You guessed it....added to the list!
The kids are so excited to find a record player!

It is so much fun bringing back a little technology history!

We have the same wall phone from PB and although it doesn't get used that much, every time I pick it up, it reminds me of being a kid and getting all wrapped up in the cord!

Yes, it is amazing to me how fast things have gotten outdated!! I was talking to my daughter yesterday about the CD player and I had a mental block on what it was called!! I could only think of record player!
