Extra storage

Moving to a smaller home means we need to think
about every inch of space and
the best way to use it!

The upstairs bathroom has a large blank
wall above the toilet. It seemed like wasted space
just holding a picture.

We thought about adding cabinets but then
decided we like the look of the shelves
above the washer and dryer so much
that they would look great here, too.

Plus...Tony can build them!

The first step was adding the 1x2 boards
which will support the shelves...

Then Tony cut the 1x10 boards to fit the space
for the shelves.

Adding the trim to the front...
and playing with accessories borrowed
from other rooms.

The shelves are primed
but I still need to:
paint them white
touch up the walls
and find accessories!!

Loving the new found storage!

These shelves look great! So much space. I actually prefer to use bins for my bathroom supplies so I would put those there. Such a great way to use vertical space!

What a great project and lucky that Tony is so "handy". I agree they are much better than cabinets.
