Christmas Cheer....

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but today at The Olde Factory the vendors are getting ready for Xmas and spreading some Christmas cheer. Come along with me and I'll show you some of the cute finds.....

I have a soft spot for snowmen....

Mini muffin pan filled with candles....

This tree is beautiful...
the sun was shining in and it just sparkled...

These little trees are only $2.50 each...
Wouldn't they make the cutest individual
place card on a Christmas table?

I may need to get them for Christmas breakfast.

These gingerbread men are adorable...
cute on the tree...
on a gift...
or use with each place setting
on Christmas!

I think they whispered in my ear that I need a
Christmas tree in my kitchen this year...

And speaking of kitchen...
I would love to put these above my kitchen cabinets
for the holidays.

And what would Xmas be without candy canes...

I did study the candle and jar a little bit...
I'll give you a hint...
battery powered candle with bells ;)

A little Christmas cheer before Thanksgiving...

Hope you forgive me!

Mantle Update or Updated Mantle....

A few months ago a good friend called and said she spied a mantle in
her neighbors trash....gasp! How could someone put a mantle out for trash....

So....off we go to save this mantle from finding its way to the land fill!

As we tried to sneak the mantle out of the trash pile,
the neighbor spied us and came out to say hi.....gasp!
They were so sweet about us taking the mantle
and even invited us in to see their new beautiful mantle.

We are seriously thinking of buying wigs and sun glasses for these adventure!

Originally I put the mantle in the booth "as is"
but with each visit to the booth I found myself
wanting to take it apart....

We (Tony) cut off the legs and re-worked the trim...
added some white paint...
some Valspar black glaze (my new favorite glaze color)
and hooks....

She is 62" long and what a beauty!
I tried very hard to find a home for her at my house...
but no luck.

A friend asked me not to take her to the booth,
because she wanted to find a home for her...
but no luck....

Off to the booth she goes....

I am happy to report she sold
and hopefully found her way to
a beautiful home...
Can't you just imagine her decorated for the holidays...

Aren't you glad we saved her?
Now I'm off to buy a blond wig and sun glasses!

The perfect omelet....

Of course the perfect omelet is the omelet that I didn't cook!

Lil T has been practicing his omelet making and flipping skills.
The other week Tony bought him a brand new omelet pan.
Now every Saturday we are enjoying omelets....
compliments to our chef...Lil T!

He has become quite particular about making his omelets and I asked him what his secret is to getting the omelet to flip in the pan....butter....lots of butter in the bottom of the pan!

Yum!

I am considering a pile of dirty dishes
a small price to pay for
a delicious omelet!

Also hoping he doesn't
out grow this omelet making
phase any time soon!

Dependable...

Where does time go?

I knew our kids were frequent readers of the blog...
what I didn't realize was how much they enjoyed reading
these stories of our lives...

And that was the question I was asked at dinner the other night...
"Mom, why don't you blog any more?"

Then I was presented with a list of blog posts that I missed
blogging about.....

This list included....
Staining a farm house table that has family history.
Painting and re-organizing Lil Tony room.
Ripping up lots of carpet...
Staining stairs..
Picking hardwood for upstairs.
More painting...
Planting a wild flower garden.
New recipes.
Being a family.

So.....here we go...
Easing our way back into the blogging world.....

Two weeks ago the leaves started to change...

to these beautiful colors....

But all these beautiful colors must fall....
and this means lots of leaves!

I think fall clean up is much busier then our spring clean up...

This leads us to Tony's new toy....

He has been on the search for a "new" truck...
He wanted a work truck...
something he can drive over the property...
get stuck in the mud...
load with dirt...mulch...tree branches...leaves....

A truck for him and his girl friend....

I was thinking a shiny new truck...
but he was thinking character, solid....dependable..

This is today...
all leaves gone and fall clean up at its busiest...

It has been a busy weekend for this man, truck and dog...
Leaves cleaned up...
pond cleared of dead plants...
and a new mulched path around the pond....

Life is good...

Cheers to....
character...
solid...
and
dependable!
