Hydrangea love....

My love for hydrangeas started during a Mother's Day vacation

to Cape May with my mom many years ago.

These beautiful blooms grace almost every house....

In Cape May they are the most beautiful

blue, purple, and pinks.

To our surprise, here at the pond house,

 we have a beautiful all white hydrangea....

For fun I grabbed my 50mm lens and played with

the reflection of the sun off the glass table...

the fun with my 50mm lens is being able to change

the aperture to 1.4...

with each photo I changed the aperture

to see how the picture changed....

Sometimes I think the neighbors think me and my

lens are odd...

Like laying on the ground to look up

at this beautiful bloom to get a

different angle...

or standing on the stump in the middle of

our yard to get this picture of

our furry new resident...

New found freedom....

It has been awhile since I have shared a Blue story....

Over the last year, two sections of fence were added around the house; a picket on the side of the house and a privacy fence in the front. The last stretch of picket fence is to go at that back of our property, but that would block our view.....

Which creates this dilemma...some type of fence is needed for this little guy. He may look like he doesn't know what it going on, but he is one smart puppy! He also has a nose that gets him into lots of trouble.

So....after much debate, an electric fence was installed last week. This will allow Blue to have one acre of freedom. Personally, I am worried about putting trust into this fence....he has his own mind and I am thinking if he wants something bad enough he'll cross....and he would be lost into the woods...the fence guy assures me that Blue will learn....

Blue is loving his new found freedom...traveling to all the places he wasn't allowed to be...like my flower garden...

Out front on the "wrong side" of the fence...

And he finally gets to hang out with his friends....

Although, I am not sure ghost is liking Blue having all this new found freedom....

A wildflower garden...

The kids and I had the most pleasant surprise on a drive home last week....

A field of wildflowers in full bloom....

I pulled over and quickly took a picture with my phone and

told the girls we will need to come back at sunset....

We returned as the sun was setting....

to enjoy the most beautiful poppies...

 

Do you think the purple blooms are larkspur?

just beautiful...

Wonder how hard it would be to recreate this on a smaller version?

Off to research how to plant a "field" of wildflowers...
