Treasure hunting...

Everyone once and awhile Tony and I will have the same day off during the week! These days are like gold....so of course we went in search of some treasures!

A friend and I actually found this antique/salvage yard the week before and I knew Tony would love it. Two barns, one large shed, and two lanes filled with stuff.....

The week before when Lauren and I visited, she referred to it as the original "Restoration Hardware" and there isn't any better way to describe it.

If you are looking for old doors, windows, shutters, hardware, and any thing old...this is the place to go...

Entering the door in the barns basement will lead you to a room filled with wood...barn wood...rows and rows of barn wood...

 It felt like a maze....

Shutters in every size and style imaginable...

The property is beautiful and Tony enjoyed talking with the owner about the pond and building a dock. Actually the owner and his wife were just the sweetest couple. They cherish history and this is there way of trying to preserve history and keep it alive.

We were hoping to find wood for the top of a farm house table, but couldn't find the right pieces.  We did manage to find some shutters to paint and new rope for the tire swing. There were many items I wanted to take home! I see another trip in our future!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello friends....

Gosh, I signed into blogger tonight and was greeted by a new layout...I guess it has been a long time since I signed in. My finals were on Wednesday and I am thrilled to have my camera back for personal use. Today I started to create a new work flow for my photo's. Do you have an organized work flow for your photo's? In school we were required to have an organized work flow saved on the student server. It worked so nice at school, I decided to use the same process at home.

Here is the process we followed....

Folder 1 (named for the assignment and contains four folders inside)
-Raw images (photo's straight from the camera)
-Edit (theses were our top 10 photo's that we would work with)
-Processed (copy of the photo's processed in lightroom)
-Final (the final copy of the photo to be printed)

Folder 2 (same process followed as folder 1)

These folders were saved on the server and on an external hard drive. Save...back up...Save...

The student server crashed twice and thank goodness for the external hard drive. I used a Laci as my external hard drive and loved her. She saved my you know what many times! In the beginning it took a while to get use to this work flow, but now I can't imagine not being this organized. 

Today I uploaded some photo's into a new folder for spring...would you like to see the raw (unedited) images....

Summer must be on its way, because this little guy (snake) was out getting some sun. I almost stepped on him as I was walking around the pond...

Buckets of pansies....

I have been patiently waiting for this poppy to open...they always make me smile....
