Could we.....

Today a For Sale sign went into our neighbors yard...
Brown Stone home built in 1845
6 Bedrooms
In-law quarters
As the Realtor was putting the sign in the yard
Tony and I looked at each other in silence.
Words did not need to be spoken,
we knew exactly what the other person was thinking...
Could we move?

No, of course not!
We love our home,
but who ever does buy this one
is getting a beautiful home and property!

A nice surprise....

This afternoon I had a nice surprise from Kelly at Charter Homes. She featured Relatively Unique on their blog. Thank You, Kelly...you made my day! I've been studying all morning and needed a break and found the perfect distraction!

Do you remember last year when Tony and I were inspirational shopping and visited a Charter Home model home? The homes are beautiful and filled with great design ideas. Charter Homes build new homes, but have the look and feel of being around for generations....I think it is the beautiful front porches and the double doors. I am in love with the double doors! If you missed the post from last year, you can read it here!

After I watched the video again, I decided to do a little you tube surfing and found another video from Charter Homes I thought you would like....

If have a chance hop over and tell Kelly hi! I know she'd love for you to visit!

Happy Easter

We finally enjoyed some sunshine with a break from the rain today!
Which made for a fun filled day at mom and dad's!

Come on in....

We'll start the day with the annual Easter Egg hunt...

Even the big girls enjoyed some egg hunting!
The question is when will they be too big?
We decided never....

Miss Sarah lost a tooth..
I hope the tooth fairy remembers to visit tonight.
Sometimes she gets busy and forgets
or once we think Lily scared her off.

A perfect day for playing outside...

A needed break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

My mom has the most beautiful flower gardens....

Let me walk you around and share some of my favorites...

An old iron gate finds a new life...

These tulips were smiling at the sun...

I guess the saying...
Every flower needs a little rain to bloom...
is true!
Happy Spring
and
Happy Easter!

On the move...

Last Friday I was off work!
and it rained...
all day!

What is a girl to do but...
play the radio too loud,
sing along,
and
move her family room furniture around!

Wow! Am I exciting or what! Just kidding of course!

My goal is to try to find a new place for the sofa....

Trying to make it work under the single window....
Lily and Blue had to be right under my feet...
just like two little kids!

The sofa felt too far away from the television...
maybe under the large window would be the better option...

Liking the sofa under the window, but
wanted to see what a chair looks like beside the sofa...
Blue wanted to give the sofa a test under the window...

Blue is liking the sofa under the large window...
perfect viewing of the neighbors barn cats!

Final move...

Removed the rug..
for now....

Tomorrow I think I'll go accessory shopping in
my home to change things up!

How about you...
do you feel the need to rearrange your furniture...
how about your accessories?

Makes it feel like a new room!

A Sunday walk....

For the past few days the kids have been hard at work in the woods. For the last two days they have been raking leaves from the creek, cutting back thistle and cleaning up the branches from a fallen tree. They tell us they found a little water fall, a creek filled with rocks, and even a secret fort. We have not been allowed to travel back to see this secret place until today. Would you like to travel along with us?

Grab a pair of boots, they will be needed for this adventure!

We will head out towards the woods....

Cross the log bridge and follow path towards the large tree.

Stay to the left of the large tree and continue straight on the path.

Pass by the skunk cabbage patch on your left.

Continue staight towards creek number two.

Hop over creek number two!
We stopped and listened to the "water fall" running down to the creek.
The kids told us this creek was not running and
needed to have the leaves cleaned out and the rocks moved to the side!

Almost there...
(do you spy Lily and Lil Tony in the picture)

We have reached the secret resting place!
Apparently Dad was in on this secret and carried the logs out today.

They have already planned a picnic lunch here for next
Sunday with some friends!

No rest for the weary on this trip...
Hop over the log and head towards the creek again.

The kids favorite part of the walk...
Time to hop in the creek!!
The thistle is too thick to walk on land...

We have made it to "rock creek"
The water seems to pop out of the ground and flow down
toward the other creek....
Nature is beautiful....

Here is where the creek we were walking in meets with
the rock creek.

Lets head back home....
Through another creek and up and over its bank towards the field.

We'll walk along the tree line through the field home....

Almost home....

Over one more bridge....

And we are home....

Thanks for walking along with us!

Weekend Reading....

It is Saturday morning....my very favorite time of the week! Sleeping in, sipping coffee and reading blogs! One sweet Blue is curled up beside me....I think he likes Saturday mornings, too! Wish you could hear him snore, for such a little dog he is a very noisy sleeper!

A special thank you to Melissa at Melissa's Heart and Home for featuring our Family Room last week! She is so sweet and has the most beautiful home! We were very honored for the feature...Thank you!

Want to make the sweetest and most adorable carrot cake cupcakes? Gallamore West has the recipe for you....

Taradactyl has the best luck when it comes to curb side finds! My sofa even found its way to her van!

Yvonne at StyleBurb has started to decorate her Family Room. She has a great inspirational picture and a ton of fun ideas! I am excited to see it all come together.

The Brick Street Bungalow shared an awesome tip this week on how to make old painted hardware look beautiful! You are going to be amazed at how she did it! PS~I am in love with her front porch...it looks like the perfect spot for reading a good book and sipping some tea on a hot summer day!

Hope you have a fun weekend filled with  lots sun shine (that's what we are hoping for!)
