Little did we know two days later on Friday (July 1st) God was calling him home.
Today the Paster talked of what life will be like without our loving Grandfather and how to find hope in this newness. Sometimes newness is hard....different. Today I am remembering how blessed I was to have had a wonderful Grandpa and thankful my that kids new of his love, too.
P.S.(If you can....give your grandfather a big hug and tell him you love him!)

sorry for your loss i had the pleasure of growing up with my 1 grandpa and they have to be the best memories i have i still cry today over some memories and he has been gone for 30 years.
Beautiful post. So sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear this....but how lucky your children were to have known him. I lost my own Grandfather when I was 11 and we all adored him. I'd give anything to have many more years with him. Try to appreciate what you had and not that he is gone. Easier said than done. When I lost my father in an accident 8 years ago...we tried desperately to remind ourselves that at least he never had a long illness....he never suffered...he was just gone. And we were thankful for that. All though the sudden hole it leaves in your family is so hard to manage. Thinking of you.....
I'm sorry to hear your bad news. May special memories of your grandfather give you comfort at this sad time.
Sorry for you loss!!
I have lots of happy memories of my grandfather stored away! Hope you do too!
Your love and loss is felt through out this post.
What a beautiful tribute to your Grandfather.
I'm sorry Wendy. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Mourning is so painful. I think we protect ourselves by forgetting that pain, until sadly we have to feel it again. I am sorry that you had to be there again. With love...
Oh Wendy, I am sorry for your loss of your beloved grandfather...I know he will be deeply missed...XO
Aw...I'm sorry and happy at the same time. Sad because I know you and your family will miss him, but praising God that he is home with Jesus!
I only have one grandmother left, and yes, I will hug her when I see her in the Fall--that is if she hasn't gone to be with Jesus, too.
I wish I could give you a big hug!

I'm so sorry! Thinking of you and your family.
So sorry for your loss Wendy!! My children never got to meet either of my grandparents and I always wish they had. I know you will miss him terribly! Many hugs!
So sorry Wendy!~ I miss my Gramps every day and it has been 10 years ago this month. I wish my boys would have known him. I swear he planted the Jack seed, and hence the name. You have some awesome memories and they never ever go away.
Wendy,
this post has brought tears to my eyes, I'm so sorry to read about the earthly loss of your grandpa. (I will look forward to meeting him in heaven one day). My prayers and thoughts are with you. Both of my grandpa's are now gone, but I treasure the memories I have of both... blessings,
Dee Dee
