Do you remember what this room looked like in September when we moved in? This is a photo from the first week at The Pond House... (FYI..the clock is at The Booth, for any locals interested!)
And here we are today...with a new slip covered sofa and chairs (which I love) and new curtains and pillows..
My little side table from Ikea....
Material for curtains from Hobby Lobby 30% off! I kept it simple and sewed panels.
Material for pillows is from Hobby Lobby on clearance for $5.00 a yard.
Spray painted the floor lamp silver to match the other lamps...new shade from Kmart.
A view looking into the den (remember Hello Gravity...it still makes me smile!)...
Have you ever started to re-decorate a room, to only put it on hold?

Much more welcoming, gives a sink in and put your feet up vibe which I love.
One of the best room re-do's that I've seen lately. Love it! I especially love the drapes and that IKEA table (have to put that on my list for my next trip!). It's modern, yet the lines me of my grandma's metal backyard furniture. Thanks so much for sharing it all with us.
My whole house is painted in Everlasting by Ben Moore (I used Valspar paint). Although it looks peach online, it works well with our wood floors that had a bit of an reddish tone to them. I also have a vanilla color that I used to paint furniture, that is Quail Egg by Valspar. Good luck with picking, that's the hardest part!
Beautiful room. I love the calming colors... looks like a wonderful room to relax in!
Looks so pretty Wendy! I look forward to your outdoor projects.
What a beautiful room! I love your new couch and chairs, and the curtains really add the finishing touch. You did a great job coordinating the colors together. Great job!!!
Wow, Wendy I've never seen this room and it is GORGEOUS! I love every single detail and the soft color palette looks amazing. Just perfect for your welcoming home. Thanks for showing us.
Warmly, ~Melissa :)
The armoire is beautiful!!!
I love it!
Gorgeous! I love all of it and yes, I have started a room and and put it on hold. Drives me crazy because it's always before me. This is lovely.
Lovely! It looks very inviting;I can see me curled up in one of the chairs with a book. I'll be right over!
You did a wonderful job! It looks so pleasant in there. Your family must be enjoying it so much. In the background I saw two prints that look like cottages-they are very charming. Pop over and visit me at Brambly when you get a chance. Take care.

This room looks fantastic. Are kiddin? Rooms put on hold is the story of my life. The dining room chandelier has been sitting on the floor for over a year waiting to be hung. I hope to hang it next week.
I totally understand putting something inside on hold. I do not work inside during the summer months, although I am in the process of painting and going back to my neutral colors as we speak. Love your new slip covers. May I ask where they came from. I am in desperate need of some for the furniture in my sunroom thanks to the dog and the sun.
i think it looks great...love the new furniture and fabric choices for the window treatments and accent pillows...if that's putting a room on hold i'd say you're doing just fine!

Wendy!
This room is stunning!
Cozy, warm with lots of pretty details!
I found your button/link at Savvy Southern Style (I only click on the pictures that appeal to me--about 5 out of 200) and when the picture linked here, I laughed and thought-why didn't I see this yet?
Where did you get the sofa and chairs?
I also noticed you have a pedestal dish, too, on your Ikea table :) Pretty!
Good job on this room! Fresh Farmhouse Design!
Love,
me
Wow Wendy, the room looks fantastic! I love the calm relaxing feel of these photos. I can just see you reading in a chair while your kids chill on that great couch.
I love this room! Especially the sofa and chairs. So clean and crisp. Where are those from?
Your family room looks great Wendy - so fresh and airy. I'm like you, it is hard to stay inside when it is nice outside. So many projects await inside and out.
Wendy with a family room that looks this GOOD you can definitely wait to do some tweaking to it!! Looking forward to seeing your outside projects, Martina
PS- just became your newest follower would love for you to follow back! Martina

This looks so nice...so fresh and pretty. You have done an excellent job.
Yes, I have put a decorating project on hold, usually because I can't find the right materials that I need to continue, I think it is worth it to wait until you find just what you want.
I enjoyed your comment on my blog, thank you for visiting me.(-:
Slip covered (or slip covered look) furniture is my all time favorite.
Wendy,
Everything you touch seems to turn bright and beautiful! Love the changes in your family room!
Cozy, fun, bright and airy... love it!
Great job on the curtains! Can't wait to see what's happening outside!

Hi Wendy, I adore your family room makeover! The color scheme is so peaceful and serene. The slipcovers and floral pillows are beautiful and I love the rustic wooden chest -it has loads of character! I found your blog through Melissa's Heart and Home feature and I'm following now.
What a beautiful and soothing room!!! Everything about it is perfect! :)
