and I am thankful that technology has progressed
and I don't need to use one of these every morning!

An old iron? I have no clue......can't wait to find out.
Yep an old curling iron. My grandma told me that my mom and aunts also used a regular clothes iron to straighten their hair.
Is that an old curling iron. That is cool. Or should I say hot!
Is it a water heater gadget? Or maybe what everyone else is saying....a curling iron?

it's an old curling/straightening iron. Or at least it looks like one Clemtine used to have when my Sis and I were little and used to visit her in her home.

Could you imagine the effort you'd have to go through to curl your hair in the morning with one of THESE!! Ouch! I've never seen one with the base-thing, tho. Fascinating.

So, I also knew right away what it was. I remember my mom using one when I was little. Seemed torturous to me.
I was going to guess a curling iron too. The torture we go through for beauty ;)
