I am happy to join Kim's Before and After party today!
This was a dresser I re-painted a few months ago!
It was such a great deal! Don't you love it when that happens!
I found this little beauty at a local thrift shop for $35.00.

My heart skipped a beat...
I had a vision of painting it white or black...
I left...didn't buy it...I was behaving
(I can do that sometimes..lol)
I went back the next week and it was still there...
Yep...she came home with me on that trip
I love the detail on the bottom and sides
and I just adore the bun feet!!
I used left over black paint from our summer painting projects.
It is by far the most versitail black paint!
I sanded the top before painting.
It did take 2 coats of paint.
It is a little cold here in Pa...
so we ran a heater in the garage so I could paint
The bottom drawer stuck and my thought was to sand it,
but first a phone call to dad to get his opinion...
He suggested to use some paste wax and that should do the trick..
it worked like a charm!!
Added some final touches with handles and knobs.
Did you spy the typewriter on top?
We found it at the Antique factory...
the kids love it!!!
Remember how it can only type in red or black and
dings when you are at the end of the paper!
Oh what fun!!

Remember when you asked me what I was looking for to go at the top of my stairs -- that was it! Looks great.

what a great before and after! It's so pretty now
great job refinishing the dresser- good lines- i learned to type on a manual typewriter- my dd loves to spot them on our antique/flea trips. glad you found one
Oh how I am on hunt for a old type writer that works! I am getting married in April (in Jamaica) but am having a reception when we get back in the states and I saw this cute idea to have a type writer available for guests to stop by and leave you a little note. You know, everyone likes to play with those things. I have a few months to find one.. wish me luck!
I love that chest black, Wendy. I see I was your first comment the first time you posted this. Thanks so much for linking tonight.
You were wise to go back and get this one. It looks terrific. I left a great little side table recently and have regretted it.
Wonderful typewriter find! ~ Sarah
